A HOLOCAUST survivor has blasted Jeremy Corbyn for anti-Semitism in the Labour party.
Anita Lasker-Wallfisch hit out at the far-left leader, saying his difficulty in apologising was a “great pity”.
The 94-year-old survived for a year in Auschwitz, six months in Belsen, then came to Britain when they were liberated.
She said: “It completely baffles me because it would be so simple for him to realise that it needs very little to actually admit that it is wrong to be just anti-Semitic.
“I don’t know what people think they’re talking about, talk about Jews, you are somebody, who what is a Jew?
“You’ll get a very funny answer.
“It’s a great pity that he can’t get himself out of this hole that he dug himself into.
“It would be terribly simple.”
Ms Lasker-Wallfisch also questioned why the Labour leader defended the sick anti-Semitic mural on a Facebook group he was in.
He had offered his backing to Los Angeles-based street artist Mear One whose mural was due to be removed after complaints.
She said: “I mean, you know, the worst thing is that he didn’t even realise that this new mural or whatever you call it, you know where the rich people sit, that he didn’t, I don’t know whether it was in his remit to remove it, but he didn’t even think that was offensive.
“Anti-Semitism is, we live in a very difficult world.”
Born in Poland, the Jewish activist explained she was “lucky to survive ” at all.
She said: “So I mean is this a very long story but I mean basically I very lucky to survive.
“My parents were deported and murdered in the way we know and I sruvived by miracle really, partly due to the fact that I play the cello because when I got to Auschwitz, they happened to need a cello in their orchestra there.
“I also survived then a whole year Auschwitz which is unheard of and six months in Belsen and then the British came and we were liberated and yeah.”
Since Mr Corbyn became leader in 2015, he has been dogged by claims the party harbours anti-Semitic activists and campaigners.
Ken Livingstone was suspended for two years for claiming Hitler was a Zionist, while Naz Shah resigned as an aide to shadow chancellor John McDonnell after she was accused of sharing anti-Semitic graphics on social media.
The party also voted not to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) definition of anti-Semitism, including the 11 examples of “contemporary anti-Semitism”.
Mr Corbyn has also been pictured holding a wreath, apparently in a ceremony honouring terrorists who murdered Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics.
Several MPs resigned over the problem, including Jewish MP Luciana Berger, who was bombarded with abuse by Corbyn supporters.

The leftie boss then snapped at the veteran presenter as he was grilled on air over alleged abuse of Jewish people from party members.
He said: Obviously Im very sorry for everything that has happened.
