ARSENAL legend Lee Dixon has been slammed as “Tory scum” after revealing he wouldn’t be voting Labour in the general election.

The ex-England star had replied to a Jeremy Corbyn tweet that said: “Vote Labour. That’s it. That’s the tweet”.

Dixon responded: “No. There you go. My tweet back.”

He was hit with a barrage of abuse by Labour supporters branding him a “Tory c***” and “scum” for turning his back on working class people.

They also accused him of wanting to avoid paying tax and claimed he hated the poor.

But the mob hadn’t checked the right-back’s tweet just 15 minutes earlier where he revealed he would be voting for the Green party.

One person tweeted: “As an Arsenal fan I am gutted. But Lee Dixon is cancelled.”

Another wrote: “What’s the matter, Lee? Rather let children actually starve than pay a bit more tax?”

While one said: “Lee Dixon hates the poor, the disabled and the NHS. Pass it on”.

Others compared the star a string of footballers – including Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher – who have come out in support of Corbyn.

Voters have today come out in their droves to make sure they have their say in the 2019 general election.

Brits queued at polling stations across the country despite the miserable weather to show their support.

The UK’s Brexit dream is now on a knife-edge after the enormous queues sparked fears of a huge youth turnout.

In past elections, high turnouts usually suggest Labour has succeeded in mobilising its younger and working class voters, who often do not bother to vote.

Tweeting today, Boris urged Tories to turn out: “Today is our chance to get Brexit done. Vote Conservative.”

As he was pictured campaigning this evening in his constituency of Uxbridge and South Ruislip, hisgirlfriend Carrie Symonds also told voters to “keep going”.
