DAYS before the General Election Channel 4 will host a live debate looking at all issues apart from Brexit.

Senior figures from all parties will answer questions from undecided voters, but it will not feature two main political heavyweights.

When is the Channel 4 debate?

The 90-minute programme is set to be aired on Sunday December 8 at 6.30pm.

The debate, hosted by Cathy Newman in Leeds, will look at all election issues.

Undecided voters will question figures on crime, the NHS, the economy, climate change and poverty.

Director of TV Production at ITN Productions, Ian Rumsey said: This election has been dominated by Brexit, but this debate is a chance to examine all the other issues that matter so much to voters, like the state of their schools, hospitals and public services.

“It is vital for our democracy that these issues arent overlooked and are scrutinised properly before polling day.

Who will be taking part?

  • Labour’s shadow secretary of state for education, Angela Rayner
  • The Liberal Democrat leader, Jo Swinson
  • Green Party’s co-leader Jonathan Bartley
  • The SNP’s Health spokesperson in the house of commons Philippa Whitford
  • Plaid Cymru leader Adam Price
