The launch of Crossrail has been delayed until late next year, transport bosses have revealed

TfL commissioner Mike Brown yesterday told the London Assembly that services wont start until at least September 2021.

He added: What weve looked at is a delay to the later stages of 2021 in terms of our business planning assumption.

The assumption weve made is, I suppose, at the pessimistic end.

Crossrails budget was set at 15.9billion in 2007, but it is now expected to cost around 18.25 billion.

The delays have cost TfL up to 750million in lost passenger revenue.
