A DELIGHTED voter told Boris Johnson “I can’t believe it’s you” as he stood on her parent’s front lawn today.
The Prime Minister went door-knocking this morning in Mansfield to drum up support for his election campaign.

The Prime Minister chatted with eager resident Lucy Camm, who exclaimed: “Jesus Christ, I cannot believe you are outside my mum and dad’s house. I cannot believe you’re in our street.”
She added: “You have definitely got our vote. We do not like Jeremy (Corbyn).”
She told reporters: “I just can’t believe he’s here.
“I wish I was kind of dressed a bit more appropriately and didn’t come running out in my socks, but it’s good though.”
Mr Johnson received a warm welcome at the second property he visited and at the final house one man greeted the PM by saying: “It’s good to see you young man.”
Susan Kitchen, 71, answered at the one home he visited and said afterwards her heart was going “10 to the dozen” and she was “absolutely shocked” to see the PM, who she quizzed on Brexit.
She told reporters: “I told him I was worried about the deal he was making and asked him specifically if their laws could overrule our laws because that’s what I’ve heard.
“He said no, absolutely not, so I says to him if you’re wrong I’m going to write you a letter – and it won’t be pleasant.”
Further planned Nottinghamshire visits to plant a tree, in connection with one of the party’s pledges, and to meet farmers were cancelled due to a change in the PM’s schedule.
He instead went to Bolton following a serious fire at the university there last night.
The university’s student union president Ansh Sachdeva led Mr Johnson on a short tour through the Chancellor’s Mall building where donations of clothing, food, toiletries, other essentials and even phone chargers have flooded in.
Mr Johnson hailed the “incredible response” from the community after appeals were made via social media to help students displaced from the fire.
He had brief handshakes with a number of the affected students and also met Professor William Morris, the university’s deputy chair of the board of governors, who told the Prime Minister: “It’s been a terrific response, just marvellous.
“Luckily nobody was badly hurt, the fear here was tangible.”
Mr Johnson then travelled to the town centre where Dave Keelan, Assistant Chief Fire Officer at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, showed him the fire-damaged building and the ongoing recovery effort.
