A SHEEP farmer in Scotland is irate after Boris Johnson “climbed over a fence” to camp in his field without permission.
Landowner in Applecross Kenny Cameron was fuming when he found the PM and his fiancee Carrie Symonds had pitched their eight foot bell tent and had a campfire on his land.
Mr Cameron told the MailOnline: “Mr Johnson is meant to be leading the country and yet he is not setting a great example.
“Usually if people want to go inside a fenced area, they ask for permission first, but I was not asked at all. It is only polite to ask.”
Mr Johnson and his family were staying at a £1,500 a week cottage called the Old School, on the remote Applecross Peninsula.
But Mr Cameron said the PM and his fiancee had jumped his 3 foot fence by placing two chairs from the cottage on either side.
The farmer said: “He could have put up his tent in the garden of the cottage and there would have been no problem – but he didn’t do that.”
“He could easily have damaged the fence by climbing over it as a short cut.
“There is a gate a little way up and they could have just used that. ”
The remains of a campfire were also left out by the tent, which had to be cleaned up after the PM left for London.
Mr Cameron said: “Having a bonfire is always a risk when you have dry weather. I know we had rain last night but it has been very dry.
“It was the first time I had seen a tent in the field. I last came up here a few days ago and it was not here then.”
Mr Cameron turned up on the spot where the Prime Minister had been camping hours as members of his security team were clearing up.

One officer said: “We are going to take the tent down and clear away any rubbish.”
Mr Cameron complained to the officers that no one had asked for his permission to put the tent up.
Mr Johnson and Ms Symons are believed to have spent evenings in the tent while their four-month-old baby sone Wilfred and their dog Dilyn warmed themselves by the fire.
The farmer admitted he had not found any evidence of damage to his land – and might have given permission for the tent if asked “as long as they respected his fences and did not make any mess.”
He added: “As far as I can see, there is no damage, but there could easily have been.”
Mr Cameron also admitted that he did not support Mr Johnson politically and was a supporter of Scottish independence.
But he said: “It is nice that the Prime Minister came here with his family. This area is very remote.
“There is plenty of peace and quiet. The weather is wonderful at this time of year. Some people bring boats and others go hill walking.”
Boris was also spotted chatting to neighbours over a fence during his holiday.
One local saw Boris and Carrie enjoying a walk with a local guide, his security team and an unknown woman who was walking Dilyn.
The PM was wearing a special hat with a face covering designed to keep away Scotland’s notorious summer midges.
A witness said: “It just looked like any other normal family day out.”
