Boris Johnson has been accused of calling Nicola Sturgeon ‘that bloody Wee Jimmy Krankie woman’

Former boss of climate change summit COP26 Claire Perry O'Neill suggested the PM offer Ms Sturgeon a formal role in it to stop her from destroying its success

Amid severe difficulties with the Scottish government over the December summits planning, its former boss Claire Perry O’Neill suggested the Prime Minister offer Ms Sturgeon a formal role to stop her Scottish National Party from wrecking the event.

Boris said: Over my f****** dead body, a witness told HOAR.
He allegedly added: Im not being driven out of Scotland by that bloody Wee Jimmy Krankie woman.

Janette Tough, 72, played schoolboy Jimmy in 1980s Scottish comedy act The Krankies, also starring her hubby Ian, 72.

PM EXPLODES

Ms Perry ONeil, recently fired by No10 as president of the COP26 climate summit, made a public reference to the PMs explosion at Ms Sturgeon this week.

In a BBC Radio 4 interview on Tuesday, Ms Perry ONeill revealed: I did suggest Nicola Sturgeon be given a job, which the Prime Minister heartily and saltily rebutted.

The official in the No10 meeting told HOAR: It was an extraordinary reaction from the Prime Minister, and not how many of us thought he should handle the Nicola Sturgeon problem at all.

The new accusation comes as Ms Sturgeon wrote to Boris to push him for answers over COP26.

At the same time, the SNP were forced to deny the Scottish government were being difficult on purpose over the summit, by actions like booking buildings on its planned site for other purposes.

Boris and the Scotland boss are already at bitter loggerheads after he refused her bid to hold a second Scottish independence referendum.

NO10 DENIAL

A No10 spokesman denied the PM made the Jimmy Krankie comment.

But a Downing Street source acknowledged Boris did express strong views about the first ministers official role which included strong swear words.

The new row comes as the prestigious summit was dealt another blow when it emerged two former Tory leaders had refused to run it, ex-PM David Cameron and William Hague.

Mr Cameron dubbed it an honour to be asked to do the job by his old Oxford University pal Mr Johnson.

But he added: I think its best in these situations if you have a Government minister doing the job; you then have one line of command rather than, perhaps, two people doing the same thing.

Downing Street also issued a fresh slap down of Ms Perry ONeill.

Asked why she had been fired, the PMs spokesman said: We think it should be a ministerial role going forward – someone who will be a big hitter, and can handle themselves on the international stage.

Jeremy Corbyn grilled Boris during PMQs over the COP26 controversy, and accused him of failing so spectacularly to measure up to the scale of the climate crisis that this country and indeed this planet is facing.

Boris insisted: We will have a wonderful summit in Glasgow, one of the most wonderful cities in the union.
