AMBER Rudd has claimed Boris Johnson asked her to stand again as an MP last week – but today the chief whip banned her from coming back into the Tory fold.

Today the Home Secretary revealed she would quit at the next election, but was confident of getting the whip back first after a chat with Boris Johnson.

However, it was then revealed that top party officials won’t let her back – saying they can’t trust her not to vote against the PM again.

The UK is set to go to the polls on December 12 after MPs backed the PM’s calls for a general election last night.

The bill now goes to the House of Lords and if it passes, Brits are going to the ballot boxes.
