Filling gaps in the labour market will be aided by the independent Migration Advisory Committee monitoring different sectors.

Visas may be awarded to migrants with the right skills in the right profession.

The government estimates unskilled EU migrants arriving will fall by 90,000 a year.

Skilled migrants will get points for a job offer with appropriate skill set, speak good English and with a salary of 25,600.
