A KEY ally of ex-Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is standing down from the left-wing organisation he founded.
Jon Lansman will not contest the upcoming elections within the Momentum campaign group and will “hand over to a new leadership”.
He said it was time for the next generation to “put their ideas into practice” in an article published last night by Labour List.
Activist Lansman worked on Mr Corbyn’s successful leadership bid when he first became leader in 2015.
Deputy Labour leader Angela Rayner said there is “no doubt” that Jon made a “big impact” in politics.
