JOHN McDonnell admitted yesterday that EVERYONE will have to pay more tax under Labour.
Despite Labour figures insisting that only the top five per cent of earners will pay more, he was forced to admit that many of the party’s policies will affect the entire population.
In an awkward interview with Sky News’ Sophy Ridge he admitted:
She pressed him to be “honest” with the public, saying there would be increase in “other” taxes like scrapping the marriage tax, and extending the sugar tax if the leftie boss Mr Corbyn got into power.
“If will impact everybody, won’t it?” she insisted.
“It means all of us paying more in taxes, not just the wealthiest.”
The Shadow Chancellor said his party’s manifesto spelled out very clearly what it would mean.
“Where there will be other elements in taxation rates, we have laid them out here,” he claimed.
“We want to have a fair taxation system.
“There will be no increase in income tax for those below 80,000. But the 95 per cent will not have an increase in their income tax, VAT or National Insurance.”
