SCOTLAND will stay locked down for an extra three weeks, it was confirmed today ahead of a UK-wide decision later.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said that Scotland’s shutdown measures will stay in place – and an exit strategy for how to lift it was on the way too.

Nicola Sturgeon made the announcement this afternoon

It comes just 24 hours after Northern Ireland said it would continue the lockdown as well.

This afternoon Dominic Raab will chair an emergency COBRA meeting to rubber stamp the decision for the whole of the UK.

He is expected to announce this afternoon that Britain will face another three weeks of lockdown, taking the measures up to May 7.
