MINISTERS were last night considering fresh restrictions on foreign travel amid anger that many celebs are jetting off to go frolicking on the beach.

Downing Street said they are considering a review of incoming flights from abroad as part of tough new measures.

The government could effectively ban flights in and out of certain countries by axing travel corridors.

Or they could make it illegal to get on or off a plane without a negative Covid test.

Officials are also expected to be far more strict about what constitutes “essential” work travel abroad.

The review comes after a string of reality telly stars sparked fury by ditching Tier 4 lockdown for the beaches of Dubai.

Towie stars Yazmin Oukhellou and James Lock are among those who jetted out of the UK to go to the glitzy sunny resort.

Cabinet ministers are poring over the options as they scramble to crack down on Britain’s rocketing coronavirus rates.

They have faced growing demands to tighten Britain’s borders, particularly after a new, super-infectious mutant strain of coronavirus was discovered in South Africa.

New government guidance released last night warns: “You can only travel internationally – or within the UK – where you first have a legally permitted reason to leave home.

“In addition, you should consider the public health advice in the country you are visiting.”
