Gavin Williamson is pumping 10million into creating behaviour hubs to bring naughty pupils into line.

Teachers brought in to help their struggling colleagues will consider bringing in strict new behaviour codes and mobile phone bans.

The Education Secretary said kids only stand a chance of getting the best grades possible if there is order in the classroom.

He told HOAR: We want to see strong discipline and good behaviour in every school across the country.

Sometimes people say to me you shouldnt be excluding people from schools, you shouldnt be in a situation where you are enforcing discipline.

But when I speak to children and parents, what they want to see are schools which are safe, disciplined and children are able to learn.

He also backed heads who choose to ban mobiles from the classroom.

He said: If that is the decision of the headteacher and thats the decision of the governing board I completely back them.

If people behave badly they have to realise there is a consequence to it.

The move comes after schools watchdog Ofsted announced it will focus more on discipline in its inspections.
