Nigel Farage gives Boris Johnson 10 days to seal Leave election pact or Brexit Party will destroy his dream of majority

NIGEL Farage has given Boris Johnson 10 days to form a Leave election pact with him – or he’ll destroy his dream of a majority.

The Brexit Party boss is still begging the PM to do a deal with him – or there’s a risk the Leave vote could be split across the country and let more Remainer MPs into Parliament.

Nigel Farage softened his Brexit demands and gave Boris 10 days for a pact

If that happened in all 650 seats it could deny Boris the majority he desperately needs.

The PM has insisted he won’t enter a pact with any party.

But Mr Farage said again today: “There is still a chance of a leave alliance that can be put together.

“There is still 10 days for him to change tack, I hope he does.”

It comes as:

  • Labour was dealt a triple blow as Tom Watson quit and ex-MPs Ian Austin and John Woodcock urged voters to back Boris instead
  • Boris is on a whistle-stop of tour of the UK – with trips to the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland

“We are going to score very highly, particularly in Labour Leave areas, he insisted.”
“This idea that Workington man are all going to go to the Conservatives is, I can promise you, nonsense.
“They are going to vote Brexit party in big numbers.”

He said that the party leader would stand at least 600 unless the PM removed the allowance for the transition period to last until 2022 – appearing to water down his red lines.

Mr Farage has previously said he wants Boris to ditch the withdrawal agreement completely.

He said the deal needed “real changes” to it as it wasn’t a proper Brexit.

The Brexit Party boss added: “Firstly that he will get rid of an extension that will allow it to go on until at least 2022. We need to have the clause in the political declaration removed so we have a hard deadline.

“The second point is that we simply cannot, absolutely cannot, bind ourselves to a trade deal that gives us regulatory alignment that would prevent us from doing trade deals with the rest of the world and would mean we are not making our own laws.”

And he brushed off pressure on the party after yesterday one of his candidates in Workington was ditched – and then said they would back Boris Johnson.
