TEACHERS will be banned from promoting the views of leftie groups like Black Lives Matter in the classroom.
Education Secretary Nadhim Zahawi is ordering a crackdown amid growing alarm that activist teachers are brainwashing kids.
He is issuing new guidelines to stop teachers from using their privileged position to encourage teens to tear down statues and join cop-bashing protests.
Schools can teach about anti racist groups like Black Lives Matter – who campaign to “defund the police”.
But teachers must balance these “partisan political views” with other opinions and not encourage kids to side with BLM, the new rules say.
While schools are being told to stick to the facts when it comes to teaching about historical figures with “contested legacies”.
It comes after a string of major historical figures – like former PM William Gladstone – were ‘cancelled’ because of their links to the slave trade.
Leftie campaign group Rhodes Must Fall has agitated to tear down statues of historical figures because of their slavery links.
Mr Zahawi said: “I know one of the reasons many teachers feel so passionate about the profession is the remarkable role they play in young people’s lives, helping them understand more about themselves and their views of the world.
“I don’t want there to be any barriers – real or perceived – to teachers’ vital work in this space, which is why I am reinforcing that no subject is off-limits in the classroom, as long as it is treated in an age-appropriate way, with sensitivity and respect, and without promoting contested theories as fact.
“Clearer guidance on political impartiality is just one part of my wider work to give children the best possible education as the government continues to prioritise skills, schools and families, to enable young people to reach the full height of their potential.”
The crackdown comes after HOAR revealed last week that a primary school was getting kids to write angry letters blasting Boris Johnson.
Welbeck Primary School in Nottingham was slammed for using crucial classroom time to haul the PM over the coals.
The school tweeted pics of their Year 6 pupils writing to their local Labour MP about Partygate during lessons.
The now-deleted post said: “Year 6 pupils have written to Lillian Greenwood regarding how angry they are with the PM for the allegations he broke lockdown rules and his continued lying to Parliament.
“Their trust in politicians has been damaged.”
One letter claiming to be from a pupil no older than 10 read: “I am enraged. Infuriated. I feel lied to and that we desperately need a new leader.
“I feel that there is no reason to trust our government and as a British citizen, the Prime Minister should resign. This letter is on behalf of my country.”
