Ministers are looking at allowing more than one form of exercise a day during the first stage of Britain’s lockdown exit strategy.

The Government are believed to favour more outdoor activity given the lower risk of infection compared to indoors.

This could see the Prime Minister allow golf courses, tennis clubs and finish lakes to reopen next month.

Mr Johnson is expected to renew the social distancing rules on Thursday before outlining his lockdown exit strategy on Sunday.

Under the current lockdown rules people are only allowed outside their home to exercise once a day.
They can either do this on their own or with a member of their household.

According to the Mail Online, new guidelines will say golfers must use their own clubs and play just one other person.

Tennis players could be asked to wear gloves on court, as well as restricted to playing with members of their household.

Officials are also looking at whether open-air swimming could be included if changing facilities stay shut.

Outdoor exercise classes such as pilates and yoga could also return if participants are able to spread out in a large open space.

It comes after the Government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) warned Ministers not to forget “low risk” changes that could boost the nation’s morale.

They said: “It may be difficult to justify easing restrictions solely for economic activities without any easing of restrictions for low risk activities with significant social and psychological benefit.”

Ministers are also looking at letting people meet up with a small “bubble” of their friends and relatives.

Families could also be allowed to leave their home more often, and for longer, in time to soak up the summer sunshine.

The proposals are being considered by ministers as they try to carve a path out of the strict lockdown and to a “new normal”.
