PRINCESS Beatrice will be a “doting stepmum” to her new husband Edoardo Mappelli Mozzi’s four-year-old son, say friends.

The Princess of York became a stepmother as well as a wife on Friday as hubby Edo is already a dad to Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi – known as Wolfie, who was also best man at their wedding.

Wolfie’s mum is Dara Huang, 38, who Edo was previously engaged to before meeting Beatrice.

The 31-year-old bride has become the first princess to be a stepmother in the royal family, and friends of Bea says she is more than up for the job.

Speaking to the MailOnline, they said: “Bea is totally into the stepmum role. She’s very concerned about getting it right and making every effort to be a second mother to Wolfie.

“She’s totally devoted to him and talks about him all the time.

“She’s ensured there are loads of pictures of him up in their house, so he feels like he has two families, and they do get on well.”

They added that it was Beatrice who was instigating a relationship with her stepson rather than Dara.

Princess Beatrice, who is ninth in line to the throne, is the only princess to marry a partner who already has a child.

The only royal family member of the previous generation to find themselves in the same position was Prince Charles.

When he married Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005, Charles became stepfather to her son Tom and daughter Laura.

This also meant Camilla became a stepmum to Prince William and Prince Harry.

Millionaire property tycoon Edoardo was previously engaged to Harvard-educated architect Dara Huang – mum of his young son – and popped the question in 2015.

However, the romance wasn’t to last with Edoardo breaking up with DH Liberty-founder Dara around six months before he started dating Princess Beatrice.

The Queen, 94, and Duke of Edinburgh, 99, joined Prince Andrew, 60, at the scaled-down Covid-secure wedding with around 20 guests on Friday.

Beatrice, 31, and Edo, 37, said ‘I do’ surrounded by close family and friends in All Saints Chapel, Windsor Great Park.

Before the pandemic, the plan had been to have 150 guests celebrate with them, but a select group gathered for a more intimate ceremony, with strict social distancing measures in place, Buckingham Palace confirmed.

In other royal news, we revealed that the Queen had loaned Beatrice her wedding dress for her big day.

And a body language expert claims that “self-diminishing” Beatrice “lowered her status” on her wedding day.

Plus Beatrice looked identical to her mum Sarah Ferguson on her wedding day back in 1986.
