THERE are fears more pressure and commitments will be placed on Kate Middleton following selfish Meghan and Harrys decision to quit.

The palace has been rocked by the Duke and Duchess of Sussexs bombshell decision to step back from their duties and move to Canada.

A royal source said there is ‘genuine worry’ that Harry and Meghan’s decision to quit their royal duties will heap more pressure on future-Queen Kate

And royal sources have said the pairs decision to flee the UK is pretty selfish and could heap more responsibility on the shoulders of the Cambridges.

There is already enormous pressure on Kate to support her husband William, the future King, and help raise her son George to face up to his duty as heir to the throne.

A palace source told The Mirror there is genuine worry about how Harry and Meghans exit from royal life could impact the family.

They said: Harry and Meghan deciding to up sticks and leave without any thought about how it could affect them is pretty selfish.

“If the Sussexes are only here half the year then it will fall to William and Kate to pick up the slack with more engagements, more pressure, and that has not even been considered.

Harry and Meghan were criticised for announcing their decision to step back from royal duties the day before Kate’s 38th birthday.

The Duchess was pictured stony-faced while driving on Thursday amid the fallout from the bombshell revelation.

Reports of a rift between the Cambridges and the Sussexes have have been rife since 2018 when Harry and Meghan moved out of Kensington Palace, which they shared with Wills and Kate, and later announced they would no longer have the same staff as the couple.

Harry and Meghan then broke away from the Royal Foundation in June 2019 – the charity the two brothers launched together in 2009.

Meanwhile, Kate has enjoyed her best year as a royal and often attends engagements and gives speeches herself.

She has also spoken of how she was struck by the Queens sense of duty and commitment.

According to reports, Kate is fully aware of the importance of her role since her marriage to William in 2011 after meeting the prince at university.

She is now the patron of 18 different charities and helped spearhead mental health campaign Heads Together along with William and Harry.

A royal source said The Queen has been extremely impressed with Kates work ethic and her hands-on role in raising George.

The beloved monarch, 93, paid tribute to the Duchess of Cambridges work ethic in her happy birthday message to her on Twitter.
