The Crown series four is already being filmed.

We can tell you that Princess Diana will be appearing in the new series.

It’s believed season four will cover from the end of the 70s up until the 90s.

With this in mind, it should cover Princess Diana’s marriage to Prince Charles.

Who is playing Princess Diana in The Crown series four?

Little know actress Emma Corrin takes on the role of Princess Diana.

Emma is just starting out in her career, however in 2019 she starred in movie Misbehaviour and US Batman drama Pennyworth.

Following her casting announcement in April 2019, an overwhelmed Emma said of her role as Princess Diana: “I have been glued to the show and to think I’m now joining this incredibly talented acting family is surreal.

“Princess Diana was an icon and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring.

“To explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity and I will strive to do her justice!”

She stars opposite Josh O’Connor who plays Prince Charles.

How did Princess Diana meet Prince Charles?

Diana first met Prince Charles when she was 16 in November 1977 when he was dating her older sister, Lady Sarah.

However six months later they were guests at a country weekend during the summer of 1980 and he took a serious interest in Diana as a potential bride.

The relationship progressed when he invited her aboard the royal yacht Britannia for a sailing weekend to Cowes.

This was followed by an invitation to Balmoral to meet the Royal Family one weekend in November 1980.

Lady Diana was well received by the Queen, the Queen Mother and the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Prince proposed on February 6, 1981, and Diana accepted, but their engagement was kept secret for the next few weeks.

Their wedding took place at St Paul’s Cathedral in 1981 and made her Princess of Wales.

The couple had two sons, the princes William and Harry.

However the marriage ended in divorce in 1996.
