Mr Bradby told US breakfast show Good Morning America he had planned to do a “more conventional journalistic job”.

But said: “The reality I found was just a couple that seemed a bit bruised and vulnerable with mental health and all the rest of it you have to be careful what words you use that was the story I found and it seemed the right journalistic thing to do, to try and tell that story as empathetically as I could.

“We had a couple of private heart-to-hearts before we did the interview and I said lets just go out and tell the truth as you see it’.

The thing about Harry is, whether in private or in public, if you ask him an honest question hell give you an honest answer, for better or worse.”

During the interviews Harry said he has grown apart from brother William, and Meghan admitted she isstruggling to cope as a new mum in the spotlight.

‘THE RIGHT JOURNALISTIC THING TO DO’

In the documentary,Meghan said that keeping quiet and having a “stiff upper lip” about the scrutiny she faces is “damaging”.

And Harry revealed he feels the ‘festering wounds’ left by his mother’s death.

The 35-year-old opened up about how important Africa was to him as he came to terms with the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

The dad-of-one was able to follow in her footsteps during the tour, as he worked with the charity HALO clearing landmines.

Prince Harry visited South Africa, Botswana, Angola and Malawi, while Meghan stayed in South Africa.

Mr Bradby said: The story of their time in Africa was of passion for their work, pride and happiness, but also a world a pressure and pain behind the brave faces.
