KATE Middleton and Prince William today beamed in green as they arrived in Dublin for their three-day whistlestop Ireland tour.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge kick-started their trip this afternoon – the first tour carried out by any member of the Royal Family after Brexit.

And the couple appeared delighted as they stepped off the commercial Aer Lingus flight in Dublin before heading to meet with the President of Ireland.

Kate, 38, looked brilliant in an Alessandra Rich dress and emerald green Catherine Walker coat paired with a black headband while Prince William wore a matching green tie.

It will be a busy few days for the royals, who could even sample a pint of Guinness this afternoon as they visit the Gravity Bar in the Guinness Storehouse.

There, they will meet people from the creative arts, sport and business sectors.

They are then expected to visit the Garden of Remembrance this afternoon.

The quiet open space is dedicated to those who rose up against British rule in 1916 and gave their lives for Irish independence.

The duke and duchess will also meet Ireland’s President Michael D Higgins and the Taoiseach, or prime minister, Leo Varadkar.

The Cambridges’ trip, which unusually was announced in advance, is likely to be seen as a diplomacy visit in the wake of Brexit.

The trip comes as Prince Harry and Meghan return to the UK this week after quitting as royals and moving to Canada.

It was previously revealed concerns had been raised over the clash in schedules as the Sussexes arrived back home.

Meghan and Harry will attend the Endeavour Fund Awards in London on March 5, the last day of the Cambridges’ Ireland tour.

A senior source told the Sun Online: “This sort of diary error would simply not have happened in the days before Harry decided to bale out of royal life.

“That’s why members of the royal family have private secretaries – and a grid system, similar to the Government’s method – to ensure that coverage of important events doesn’t clash.

“It’s a nightmare as far as staff are concerned because there is no longer any control over Harry – he has nobody now working for him who has proper experience of the methods and protocol of the court system.

Harry, 35, has already returned to the UK, with it reported today that he had sat down with the Queen for a four hour heart-to-heart.

And the 93-year-old monarch told grandson Harry he and Meghan will be welcomed back if they ever decide to rejoin as royals.

A source said: “Hopefully it cleared the air.”

The Queen agreed to meet Harry for the extraordinary fireside chat to clear the air about his and Meghan’s imminent royal departure after a request from the Duke.

Meghan is expected to fly in to London in the next 48 hours for the couple’s final royal jobs together for the foreseeable future.

The nine-month-old will remain in Canada, looked after by a nanny and Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney.

Harry and Meghan will join William and Kate — the Fab Four as they had been known — the Queen, Charles and Camilla at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey next week.

It will be Harry and Meghan’s last duty as senior royals and the first time the couple have appeared with the family since HOAR revealed their Megxit plan in January.
