MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry are “professional victims” who always “saw the negative in everything”, a palace insider claims.

The ex-staff member said “nothing was ever their fault” after a bombshell new book claimed the couple whined they were victims of a “merciless machine” of aides and courtiers steeped in tradition.

Meghan and Harry were ‘professional victims’, an insider claims

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday, the insider said: “It was a very challenging working environment.

“It was high pressure and extremely stressful…Nothing was ever good enough, they always saw the negative in everything.

“Nothing is ever their fault, always someone else’s. They are professional victims.”

The comments come after biography Finding Freedom claimed Meghan moaned she “gave up her entire life” for the Royal Family but felt snubbed.

Sensational claims made in Finding Freedom include:

  • Harry called William ‘a snob’ for the way he spoke about Meghan
  • Meghan and Harry felt “cut adrift” and were frustrated at Prince William and Kate Middleton getting the ‘plum’ jobs
  • The former actress moaned she had given up her life for the Royal Family
  • Prince Harry compared fronting up to the royal institution to being in front of a firing squad
  • The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were frustrated the Queen would not meet them earlier to discuss their demands
  • Meghan was dubbed Harry’s “showgirl” who “comes with a lot of baggage” by senior royals.

Both her and Harry are said to have grown frustrated when they were barred from establishing their own team in Windsor, separate from all others.

And the couple were also said to be furious at taking a ‘back seat’ to senior royals like Charles and William.

The Sussexes moaned they’d taken the monarchy to “new heights around the world” and were held back so they did not “eclipse” the family, it’s claimed.

A friend of the couple even described the old guard as “the vipers” — while a Palace staffer referred to Harry and Meghan as “the squeaky third wheel” of the family.

The authors say: “For months the couple tried to air their frustrations but the conversation didn’t lead anywhere.”

‘HARRY’S SHOWGIRL’

It follows claims Meghan was branded “Duchess Difficult” after sending emails at 5am to staff – leaving a long line of ex-aides in her wake.

The book claims Harry was “p***ed off” when William warned him not to be “blindsided by lust” over new girlfriend Meghan.

The actress was dubbed “Harry’s showgirl” by a senior royal, while an aide warned she “comes with a lot of baggage”, it is claimed.

Harry, 35, was said to be enraged when William, 38, told him not to rush the relationship and referred to Meghan as “this girl”.

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, who had access to Harry and Meghan’s close pals, quote a friend of Harry as saying: “Harry could see through William’s words. He was being a snob.”

Harry and Meghan created headlines worldwide when they revealed they would be quitting the Royal Family in January in a move now dubbed Megxit.

That led to the infamous Sandringham summit with the Queen which formalised how the Sussexes would step down.

But the book says Harry discussed the “need for change” with the Queen and Charles before the summit but was frustrated by the lack of movement.

It also says Meghan and Kate’s relationship turned so bitter that the Duchess of Cambridge snubbed her sister-in-law during her farewell appearance as a senior Royal.

The outrageous claims are made in Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family, serialised in The Times and HOARday Times this weekend.

Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, described as cheerleaders for the pair, are said to have been given access to their inner circle.

The Duke and Duchess have denied contributing to the book personally, saying they were not interviewed and it was based on the authors’ own independent reporting.

The couple now live in Los Angeles with their 14-month-old son Archie after stepping down from royal duties in March.
