MEGHAN Markle has sensationally claimed she felt “unprotected” by the “institution” of the Royal Family, in bombshell court papers.

The Duchess of Sussex, who is suing Associated Newspapers Limited, who own The Daily Mail, said she was unable to defend herself, leaving pals “rightly concerned for her welfare”.

Duchess of Sussex has revealed the names of the five friends who featured in a interview in People magazine

In the latest bombshell documents released as part of her High Court battle, she denies that she authorised them to speak with the press.

The article in The Mail on Sunday featured parts of a handwritten note that she had sent to her dad, Thomas Markle, in August 2018.

Today, new legal documents showed that Meghan has named the friends, who before had only been known as A, B, C, D and E, in the confidential section of the documents.

In the documents, Meghan said that she felt “unprotected” by the “institution” of the Royal Family and was unable to defend herself against false claims that where made about her.

The 38-year-old has said that some of those claims were the divisions between the Cambridge and Sussex households before she and Harry stepped down as senior royals in March – known widely as ‘Megxit’.

Associated News Limited (ANL) said that Mr Markle made the letter public after Meghan’s friends

The five pals, who have never been named, could be called to give evidence at a possible trial this year or early next year.

People magazine had previously referred to them as “Meghan’s inner circle – a longtime friend, a former co-star, a friend from LA, a one-time colleague and close confidante.”

Meghan firmly denies knowing that they were talking to the press.
