Meghan Markle’s a big fan of erotic fiction writer Anais Nin’s ‘explicit’ novels

I DOUBT the library at Kensington Palace had much to get Meghan excited — she is a secret fan of racy novels.

I can reveal Prince Harry’s wife is an avid reader of erotic fiction writer Anais Nin.

She even referenced one of the author’s saucy characters in an email address.

When she started dating the royal in 2016, she used an email which featured a term which was a nod to the French author’s autobiographical novel The Four-Chambered Heart.

The book includes a threesome which is described as an “explosive amorous rendezvous”.

Meghan’s address included a reference to a quote from the female lead Djuna, who says to her married male lover, Rango: “I must be a mermaid, Rango. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living.”

A source said: “Meghan was a big fan of Anais’ work when she met Harry and was using this email address then.

“A lot of Anais’ books are quite explicit but Meghan likes the arty way they are written.

“Anais is a feminist icon and Meghan found what she wrote very interesting and liberating.

“She used that email address for ages but I don’t think she ever thought anyone would realise what it was in relation to.”

The Four-Chambered Heart came out in 1950, one of many works published from her throughout the 20th century. Anais died in 1977.

And now there is more from the author for Meghan to get stuck in to.
A collection of short erotic stories written by her called Little Birds has inspired a Sky Atlantic series of the same name.

The shows will feature Hugh Skinner — who played Wills in telly royal spoof The Windsors — and Juno Temple, who features in one particularly saucy scene.

Perhaps being offered a role in that could be what tempts the stayaway duchess to finally return to acting.

Dave: I want to quit Foos every tour

AFTER embarking on nine gruelling world tours over the past 25 years, it’s not surprising Dave Grohl wants a rest.

But in a new documentary, the Foo Fighters frontman has admitted he wanted to quit the band every time he got home from a long stretch on the road.

Dave Grohl reveals he wants to quit the band every time they go on gruelling world tours

Dave, who will be touring again in 2021 for their postponed 25th anniversary gigs on their Van Tour of 11 US venues, said: “I don’t know what else I would do.

“It’s kind of a running joke with everyone in my life where after I’ve been on the road for a year and a half I come home from tour and say, ‘I’m never doing that again. That’s it. That’s the last time. Never ever again. I’m going to take two years off’.

“And all my friends look at me and say, ‘Bulls**t. There’s no way’.” Speaking to the documentary’s host, AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson, Dave adds:

“And after a month and a half I’ve got a guitar in my lap and I’m writing songs and I call the guys and say, ‘Let’s make another record’. Every time.”

Fans will be glad he did – but I’m sorry to say the wait for the group’s tenth album is going to be a little longer.

The Foos’ most recent release, Concrete And Gold, came out in 2017 and Dave has said they’ve put the brakes on their new stuff because of the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

He said in May: “We’ve shelved it for now to figure out exactly when it’s going to happen.”

I’ve already heard the album and can assure fans it will be well worth the wait.

  • Brian Johnson Meets Dave Grohl airs on Sky Arts at 9pm tomorrow night.

It’s jumbo GC

GEMMA Collins believes she must be related to an elephant . . . because she  has such a good memory.

She made the gag about the beasts, which are said to never forget, on The Gemma Collins Podcast on BBC Sounds.

Gemma Collins says she must be related to an elephant as she ‘never forgets’

The GC, always up for having a joke at her own expense, said: “I’m definitely an elephant. I think my ancestors are elephants because there is nothing I forget. I have a superb memory.

“I have a memory like an elephant. I can remember what people are wearing, what they ate, I have a photographic mind. If I need to remember something I take a photo ‘click’ in my head.”

Topless of the pops

YOU wait months for a good pop album then two come along at once.
At least that’s what I’m expecting for November 6, as Little Mix have announced their new album Confetti will be out then – the same day as Kylie Minogue’s Disco.

The clash is sure to get pop superfans excited, as the girl group and Aussie superstar are two of the biggest names still making quality singalong tracks.

Little Mix revealed the record title along with its artwork, below showing them topless with glitter on their faces.

The hitmakers revealed: “So much love, emotion and energy has gone into the making of this record.”

After such a tough year for everybody, the upbeat and positive songs on these two albums are sure to provide some relief.

One person who hasn’t had such a shabby 2020 though is Little Mix’s JADE THIRLWALL.

I revealed how she had found love with Rizzle Kicks singer Jordan Stephens and he shared a photo on Instagram of them together for the first time.

I can guess whose album he will be buying come November.

Green goddess

THERE was no missing Emily Atack after she finished the first recording for her new telly show.

The Inbetweeners star looked stunning in green leaving The Clapham Grand in London where she had been filming stand-up sketches for The Emily Atack Show, which debuts on ITV2 in the autumn.

Emily told Instagram fans: “Thank you everybody for coming, it was a socially distanced audience, obvs.

“And to everybody that is just helping me make the sketch show that I wanted to make. I’m just so happy, my heart is full.”

What a stand-up girl!

Paris’ true colours

IT was a case of Some-heir Over The Rainbow when Paris Hilton picked her outift for the screening of her new documentary in Los Angeles.

The American socialite from the hotel family wore the colourful dress to the event on Tuesday and also chose to carry her fluffy pooch, Princess Paris Junior, instead of a handbag.

Paris was in good spirits as she was joined by her friends, family and entrepreneur boyfriend Carter Reum at the preview of the YouTube special, called This Is Paris.

In an outfit that bright, it would be hard to be anything but cheerful . . .

Gaga & mum ‘more open’

LADY Gaga has said being kind helped her reconnect with her mum Cynthia after struggling to bond in her teens.

Gaga explained: “When I was younger and had mental issues, my mom didn’t know how to communicate with me about it.

“We’ve found a way to channel kindness into our lives in a way that’s also healed our relationship.”

Their Born This Way Foundation launched in 2012 to help young people.

In a joint interview, Cynthia said: “We’ve learned to be more open and honest with one another. She helped me do that.”
