PRINCE Andrew couldn’t sweat in the 1990s because of hair loss treatment, a former aide has claimed.

The Duke of York had denied Virginia Roberts’ claims he was “profusely sweating” while dancing with her at Tramp nightclub in 2001.

In his “car crash” BBC interview, he instead bizarrely said her claims couldn’t be true as he had developed a medical condition, anhidrosis, while serving as a helicopter pilot during the Falklands War which meant he couldn’t sweat.

But a former aide today said that it was actually hair loss treatment the duke was undergoing that prevented him from sweating.

They told the Daily Mail: “We often went to Annabel’s nightclub and even after ferocious dancing, he hardly ever perspired.”

It comes as the 59-year-old was stripped of royal duties yesterdayamid anger over his links to billionaire paedo Jeffrey Epstein.

He has also pledged to co-operate with authorities investigating Epstein, opening him up to serious criminal risk.

It came after the disastrous interview with Newsnight that saw him tell journalist Emily Maitlis:“I didn’t sweat at the time because I had suffered what I would describe as an overdose of adrenaline in the Falklands War, when I was shot at… it was almost impossible for me to sweat.”

Ms Roberts has claimed she met Andrew at the Tramp nightclub before the Prince’s friendJeffrey Epsteinmade her sleep with him.

Andrew then claimed he remembered the day in question well because he had taken Princess Beatrice to Pizza Express in Woking, and had been at home with his daughters while ex-wife Sarah was away.

Andrew was infamously photographed with his arm around Ms Roberts at Ghislaine Maxwell’s home in London in 2001.

‘THE QUEEN IS HORRIFIED’

The Duke repeatedly said during his BBC interview that he had “no recollection” of the photo being taken – and appeared to suggest it could have been faked.

Asked about claims he had sex with Ms Roberts, he told Maitlis: “I can absolutely categorically tell you it never happened.”

Ms Roberts has claimed she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times between 1999 and 2002 – in London, New York and on Epstein’s private Caribbean island.

Epstein was found hanged in his prison cell in August while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.

The Queen is said to have been horrified by stripping her son of his royal duties after the scandal.

A friend revealed: “The Queen summoned the Duke to Buckingham Palace to tell him her decision.

It was a devastating moment for both of them. His reputation is in tatters.

“It is unlikely he will ever perform royal duties again. He is disgraced.

Prince Andrewwill no longer receive his 249,000 Sovereign Grant allowancebecause that funds expenses for his official duties, such as travel.

But he will receive his income from the Queens private funds.

It was revealed last night he had fired his most loyal aide over the disastrous TV interview.
