PRINCESSES Beatrice and Eugenie have been spotted in public for the first time since Prince Andrews bombshell TV interview about pervert mate Jeffrey Epstein.

Keeping a low profile, Beatrice was seen enjoying a night out in posh Mayfair, while Eugenie attended a charity event.

Beatrice was pictured trying to avoid photographers by slipping in through the back door of Annabel’s, a private member’s club in Berkeley Square.

She was accompanying her fiance Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who was celebrating his birthday.

A passerby noted that Beatrice “clearly wasn’t keen on having her picture taken as she used the back door to enter the club”.

Her sister, Princess Eugenie, 29, was also out and about in London, where she was tonight snapped leaving the Elephant Family Charity Dinner.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall – away on a tour of New Zealand – are joint royal presidents of the charity.

The siblings’ outings comes days after their dad’s highly controversial BBC Newsnight interview with presenter Emily Maitlis about his paedo pal Epstein.

He was slammed for failing to express any sympathy for the shamed financier’s victims.

And, when asked by Maitlis if he regretted the “whole friendship with Epstein”, the duke replied: “Now, still not and the reason being is that the people that I met and the opportunities that I was given to learn either by him or because of him were actually very useful.”

His defiant response has prompted some organisations to review their association with him – or cut ties altogether.

Among those considering connections with the royal is Outward Bound UK, an educational charity which “helps young people to defy limitations through learning and adventures in the wild”.

But it’s now under pressure to dump the Duke of York as its patron.

The Express says that Princess Beatrice – one of the charity’s 16 trustees – has been asked to “sit out” a meeting about her beleaguered dad’s patronage.

A spokeswoman said that she “will not attend the meeting” because of a conflict of interest.

ITV’s royal correspondent Chris Ship said Princess Beatrice was being “asked to sit out” the meeting.

Prince Andrew has only been the charity’s patron since March this year, when the Duke of Edinburgh handed it over after more than 65 years of service.

But Outward Bound has been taken to task on social media about its new patron, with one woman demanding on Twitter: “Please remove Prince Andrew as patron as soon as possible”.

On Facebook, another commented: “I don’t think it’s appropriate for Prince Andrew to be patron of this organisation.

“I would like this organisation to explain why he is still in this post.”

The Outward Bound Trust replied: “We would like to reassure you that the issues surrounding our patron are a matter of the highest concern to us.

“We are coordinating an additional board meeting that will take place in the next few days for this to be discussed.”

QUITTING DUTIES

The Duke of York has today announced that his is stepping back from public duties for the “foreseeable future”, in an unprecedented move for a royal in modern times.

Andrew – the Queen’s second son – made the statement after mounting pressure in the wake of his interview about his friendship with convicted sex offender Epstein.

Firms including telecoms giant BT and bank Barclays were among a growing number of multimillion-pound businesses, universities and charities which distanced themselves from Andrew amid the fall-out from the Newsnight programme.

Royal author Penny Junor branded his surprise move as “absolutely unprecedented”.

She said the decision was inevitable and had probably averted a crisis, but the monarchy was going through very difficult times.

Junor added: “This is absolutely unprecedented that a fairly senior member of the royal family should be forced to retire from public life.”

It’s understood that there have been ongoing discussions within the family about the current situation with the Duke of York talking to the Queen and Prince of Wales.

The duke, in a statement released on his parents’ 72nd wedding anniversary, said that the Queen had given her permission for him to bow out of royal duties.

He said he was willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency, and expressed sympathy with Epstein’s victims.

The royal said: “It has become clear to me over the last few days that the circumstances relating to my former association with Jeffrey Epstein has become a major disruption to my family’s work and the valuable work going on in the many organisations and charities that I am proud to support.

“Therefore, I have asked Her Majesty if I may step back from public duties for the foreseeable future, and she has given her permission.

“I continue to unequivocally regret my ill-judged association with Jeffrey Epstein.

“His suicide has left many unanswered questions, particularly for his victims, and I deeply sympathise with everyone who has been affected and wants some form of closure.

“I can only hope that, in time, they will be able to rebuild their lives. Of course, I am willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency.”
