The event highlights the charity’s work to support servicemen and women from UK and Commonwealth countries.

Both royals were seen wearing hats and brooches for the service.

Princess Anne has donned a purple coat and black gloves for the event.

The Queen, who carried a walking stick, wore a blue coat with gold buttons.

The monarch has been pictured with a walking stick before, including in both 2003 and 2004.

She looked chipper as she makes a return to her royal duties after a summer spent at Balmoral.

It was the first time she had visited the residence since the death of her husband in April.

Earlier this month, she and son Charles planted a tree on the Scots estate to mark her Platinum Jubilee.

The 95-year-old beamed as she met children from nearby Crathie Primary School.
