THE Queen is “privately unhappy” at the money spent on Frogmore Cottage renovations – for Harry and Meghan to then announce they are moving abroad.

Sources have said her Majesty is furious with the costs spent, which reached 2.4million of taxpayer money, only for the pair to step down last week.

The Queen is said to be ‘unhappy’ about the money spent on it now that the couple are leaving the country

The Daily Mail reports that although the Queen has accepted Harry and Meghan won’t live in Britain full-time, insiders have indicated she isn’t happy.

HOAR Online has approached Buckingham Palace for comment.

Public money funded the upgrade after Harry andMeghanrejected a home in the grounds of Kensington Palace, saying they wanted a place of their own.

In their bombshell quitting statement the couple said they would use the five-bedroom pad “as their official residence as they continue to support the Monarchy.

They said it would be so that their family will always have a place to call home in the UK.”

They currently live in the property rent free after it was gifted to them by the Queen.

It comes as staff have been axed from the Windsor home the Sussexes originally planned to retain as their UK bolthole.

Workers at Frogmore Cottage – on the Queen’s estate – are being moved to other royal households in the shake-up.

At least two permanent employees a house manager and a cleaner are being moved to other duties within the Queens household.

A source told the Mail: “The workers are already being offered other roles at Buckingham Palace.

“There is a skeleton staff there [at Frogmore Cottage] all the time, consisting of one cleaner and a house manager. Others work as and when needed.

“This has all come as a bit of shock. They took great pride in working for them and being at Frogmore.”

It is said to have fuelled speculation among palace officials that Meghan will ever return to live in the UK “in a meaningful way”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussexgot their way in their bid to break away from the Royal Family at a crisis summit at Sandringham but the Queen made it plain she is deeply upset they are quitting.

Thecouple will now go through a “period of transition”that will see them “create a new life as a young family” and spend time in both Canada and the UK.

Yesterday Harry dodged questions over his future amid the royal crisis as he appeared at the Rugby League World Cup draw.

A video of Prince Harry was posted on the Sussex Royal Instagram account of him larking around at the engagement andwas accompanied with the Stone Roses hit This Is The One, which includes the lyrics ‘I’d like to leave the country’.

Palace sources have since said that the song was chosen by the event’s organisers as it is an “anthem” of the sport.

It comes as a pal of Meghan revealed she can “finally breathe” after escaping a “soul crushing” and “toxic” life as a royal.

The Queen said she wasentirely supportive of Harry and Meghans desire to create a new life as a young family.

But it’s widely know that Her Majesty has been left devastated by her grandson and his wife’s decision to step away.
