THE Queen was “railroaded” into a deal by “greedy” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Piers Morgan blasted this morning.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex last night got their way at the Royal Family crisis summit – allowed to step down from their duties and spend time in Canada.

In a strikingly personal statement, the 93-year-old monarch made it plain she was deeply upset the couple had decided to quit.

She said: Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life.

But Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan let rip this morning – saying the way the Queen had been treated was “disgusting”.

He said: “The fact the Queen has been effectively railroaded into doing this deal because she’s terrified of having another Diana situation where she took away her HRH.”

He added: “The Queen has felt compelled to roll over and accept this.”

Host Susanna Reid interjected during the debate, saying:“She loves her grandson and she wants him to be happy.”

But Piers refused to accept her explanation, saying it would “end in tears”.

He said: “Now Meghan and Harry are gone.

“I doubt she’ll come back. She’ll keep Frogmore Cottage just in case she does deign to come back.

“What they really want to be are global stars cashing in on the royal status she only has because she married Prince Harry.”

Piers’ rant came after he furiously tweeted last night, saying the couple were being allowed to “have their cake and eat it”.

WHAT MEGHAN WANTS

Thecouple will now go through a “period of transition”that will see them “create a new life as a young family” and spend time in both Canada and the UK.

The Queen said she wasentirely supportive of Harry and Meghans desire to create a new life as a young family.

The summit, which took almost four hours, took place between the Queen, Prince Charles, and brothers William and Harry.

The fine detail of the agreement especially the controversial issue of who will fund the couples new life will be thrashed out over the next few days.

The Queen mentioned family eight times in her statement, to refute any accusation that Harry and Meghan had been driven out.

She said she still regarded them as intrinsic parts of her family.

In an unusually personal message signed off by Her Majesty, she said: Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family.

My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghans desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working

“Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.

Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives.

It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK.

These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.

Harry will return to Canada once his royal engagements this week are finished.

He is hosting the Rugby League World Cup draw at Buckingham Palace this Thursday.

But Harry and Meghan plan to establish their home and office in Los Angeles, not Canada.
