COMIC Relief returned to our TV screens tonight after raising a staggering £1.4billion over the past 35 years.

Daniel Craig, Dawn French, Catherine Tate and The Crown‘s Olivia Colman all appeared in the Comic Relief main show, which was shown on BBC1

Prince William also made an appearance to talk about the difference fundraising makes to mental health charities.

Events were also broadcast throughout the day on CBeebies and CBBC, culminating in the evening of live television on BBC One that featured live performances, hilarious sketches and one-off comedy specials.

This year’s theme is ‘Share A Smile’, with plenty of celebs and schools taking part in Comic Relief 2021.

Beforehand, The One Show’s Alex Jones said: “This year Red Nose Day can’t come soon enough and I’m really pleased to do my bit to help share a smile.

“Humour is the one thing that always unites us and coming together to share even a small amount of joy with our neighbours and friends is what we all need right now.

“It’s such a lovely and simple idea, and if you make donation at the same time, you know you’re going to make a real difference.”
