MEGHAN Markle believed the Palace were trying to discredit her with bullying claims, says source.

Buckingham Palace launched a probe into claims Meghan, 40, made staff cry and “humiliated” personal assistants during her time as a working royal – which she has denied.

An independent law firm is currently undertaking the investigation as part of the review of the Sovereign Grant but it is not due to be published until 2022.

At the time the allegations first emerged she released a statement saying she was “saddened by the attack on her character” and had herself been the victim of bullying.

But now a new chapter in “Finding Freedom”, the book about her and Harry’s “escape” from The Firm, authors Carolyn Durrant and Omid Scoobie spoke to a close friend of the couple who revealed Meghan was “worried”, The Independent reports.

The pal said: “Though the duchess was used to defamatory reports, this front-page story was more worrying.

“It felt like certain individuals at the Palace were doing their very best to undermine and discredit anything they worried the couple may or may not say during  the interview.”
