Prince Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson and their daughter Princess Beatrice reportedly tried to talk him out of the car-crash BBC Epstein interview.
It is claimed they cautioned him about doing the programme while his then private secretary Amanda Thirsk believed it could draw a line under the Dukes link to the wealthy paedophile.
An insider told the Daily Mail: Princess Beatrice and Sarah both advised Andrew against going ahead with the interview.
However, he paid too much attention to Amanda, who was encouraging him, saying it would clear his name.

Kate Middleton and Prince William gave a comical response when singer Camila Cabello admitted she stole a pencil from Kensington Palace.
The US pop star, 22, confessed her cheeky act to Greg James on Radio One.
A video of the interview was posted to Twitter, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s account came back with the best response.
Clearly seeing the funny side, the Kensington Palace page left the two eyes emoji in response to the clip, hinting they are now watching the star closely.

Her Maj was snapped looking happy and relaxed as she opened the Royal Philatelic Societys new building as the organisation celebrated its 150th anniversary.
She is said to be “aggrieved” by claims she had approved the interview, which has seen Andrew blasted for his “lack of empathy” for Epstein’s alleged victims.
One source told HOARday Times the Queen is “privately supportive” of her favourite son Andrew – but also “deeply frustrated”.

A well-placed royal source said: Planning for Charles to become king has been going on for some time. A transition is plainly already under way.
The scandal surrounding Andrew and Epstein gave Charles an opportunity to step in to show that he can run The Firm. No one is bigger than the institution of the Royal Family. Not even Andrew, the Queens favourite son.
