The Queen buys 620 gifts costing 30,000 for staff and family

Think you spend a lot on your Christmas presents? You may be shocked when you hear the Queens gift list. 

Her Majesty, 93, is said to buy 620 gifts for staff and family, which works out at a final bill of around 30,000, according to a former palace aide.

According to the Royal Household website, a total of 1,500 Christmas puddings, paid for through the Privy purse, are handed to palace staff, workers in the Court Post Office and Palace police.

Meghan Markle’s jewellery designer pal has been ordered by Buckingham Palace to remove photos of the Duchess of Sussex wearing her pieces to promote her business.

According to The Mirror, California-based designer Jennifer Meyer, 42, allegedly breached a non-disclosure agreement by posting pictures of Meghan Markle wearing her jewellery.

What’s more, Jennifer also reportedly boasted that she “can’t get enough” of Meghan Markle wearing her pricey necklaces, rings and earrings and the two became friends when the Duchess was still starring in legal drama Suits.

A royal source said: “Jennifer Meyer has been told to remove the images and in no uncertain terms how damaging this could be for Meghan and the Royal Family.”

Cheeky Prince George left Prince Harry red-faced when the third-in-line to the throne asked his uncle why he was being “so quiet” during a dinner with the Obamas.

Speaking on Good Morning America in 2016, Michelle Obama explained she was at Kensington Palace for dinner along with Barack, Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and George – who was two at the time.

The Duke of Sussex explained he was on his “best behaviour” during the dinner, which left little George confused.

Harry added that it was “so embarrassing” as usually he’s living up to his “fun uncle” reputation.

The journalist behind Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s controversial royal tour documentary has opened up about his relationship with the couple.

Tom Bradby, who presents ITV’s News At Ten, revealed how he tried to explain the British respect for the monarchy to the Duchess of Sussex the first time he met her.

Speaking on the BBC Radio 4 podcast ‘Fortunately…with Fi and Jane’, the documentary maker, 52, told hosts Fi Glover and Jane Garvey how he had tried to relay to Meghan, 38, the country’s continued close ties with the royal family.

“Sometimes you try and explain to people not from this country our relationship with the monarchy I remember trying to explain it to Meghan a long time ago,” Tom recalled.
