THE Queen is hiring and looking for someone to fly her in the royal helicopter to her engagements.

An ad has gone out on the royal household website for a helicopter pilot, with Her Majesty, 93, keen to find a skilled flyer to drive her swanky aircraft.

Wanted: A helicopter pilot to fly the Queen to events in her swanky aircraft

The job vacancy says: Joining the team, you will take on the role of either Co-Pilot or Pilot in Command, operating a Sikorsky S76 C++ helicopter.

The Queens Helicopter Flight (TQHF) consists of a small team of pilots and ground support, providing the highest standard of helicopter service to Members of the Royal Family on official engagements.

Apparently the royals like to fly between the London palaces and the Queen’s homes in Windsor, Norfolk and Balmoral, as well as to certain engagements. We guess that’s one way to beat the traffic!

Her Maj has previously been spotted flying into Kensington Palace, when she met her new great-grandson Prince Louis.

The candidate will be either a Co-Pilot or Pilot in Command operating a Sikorsky S76 C++ helicopter

The helicopter pilot job is said to come with a competitive salary, plus benefits, and will be based in Odiham, Hampshire.

Previous ads for the role have listed the salary as 78,500-a-year, which was twice as much as Prince William was expected to earn as an air ambulance pilot operating in East Anglia.

Prince William is said to have donated his approximate 40,000-a-year earnings to charity.

The successful applicant will be in charge of taking the Queen to her houses and events

A advert has gone out on the royal household website with the closing date being March 1

They will also have extensive flying experience you will hold an ATPL (H) and a Class 1 medical.

It continues: With high levels of attention to detail and time management skills, you are capable of planning accurate flight plans and are driven to operate consistently to the highest standard.

Flexibility is essential as you will be required to undertake travel across the UK and overnight as necessary.

Applications close on March 1 for the elite position.
