THE Queen told Harry Potter star Miriam Margolyes to shh when she was being an idiot at Buckingham Palace.

Miriam Margolyes, who plays Professor Sprout in the franchise, earned a firm request to be quiet from Her Majesty, 93, for being too loud during their meeting.

The British actress, 78, claims she continued talking even though the monarch had moved past her down the receiving line during a British Book Week reception a few years ago. 

Cambridge-educated Miriam said: The Queen walked over to me and she said: And what do you do?

And I said, instead of saying Im an actress or I read stories, I said Im the best reader of stories in the whole world! 

When you meet royalty something snaps in you, I was nervous and I behaved like an idiot.

I kept on talking and she went shhhthats enough! It was so embarrassing.

Miriam added: “If I’ve got an opinion, I can’t help myself.

The Queen thought I was an idiot and she was quite right. But I thought she was a little bit harsh.

Its not the first time a celebrity has had an interesting encounter with Queen.
