A NEW documentary investigates the scandal engulfing dead paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and his friend Prince Andrew.

Here’s what you need to know about the programme – and how to watch it.

Sources say the Duke isn’t aware of the backlash around his repeated denials of any sexual relationship with Virginia Roberts

When will the interview be on TV?

The Prince and the Epstein Scandal is due to air on Monday, December 2, at 8.30pm.

The 30 minute documentary will be broadcast on BBC One, and can be watched on BBC iPlayer after the broadcast.

What are Virginia Roberts’ claims?

Virginia Roberts – now Giuffre – says she was used as a sex slave by disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and claims she had sex with Prince Andrew in a toilet aged 17.

Epstein was found hanged in his prison cell in New York on August 10 as he awaited trial on sex trafficking charges.

Giuffre, now 35, has also alleged that she was procured by madame Maxwell, 57, the daughter of disgraced tycoon Robert Maxwell, as a teenage sex slave for Epstein.

She released a manuscript just hours before Jeffrey Epstein’s death, which added to more than 2,000 documents of a lawsuit pending against the former financier and his pals.

The legal documents were released in a defamation case involving Giuffre, who in 2015 claimedPrince Andrewslept with her three times, and Maxwell.

In the BBC Panorama programme, Giuffre is understood to repeat claims the Duke of York bedded her when she was 17.

She also is said to brand his recent denial of the claims as appalling.

The royal has vehemently denied the accusations against him, branding them “false” and “without foundation”.

When contacted by the Sun Online, Buckingham Palace stated: It is emphatically denied that The Duke of York had any form of sexual contact or relationship with Virginia Roberts.”

However Giuffre has stood by her accusations, saying the Prince “was an abuser, he was a participant”.

When was the interview filmed?

The episode was filmed three weeks before the BBC aired a separate Newsnight interview with Prince Andrew on November 16.

Giuffre is believed to be furious that her appearance was aired after the Duke was able to publicly make his statement about the alleged events.

A source close to Roberts told The Mirror: She has made no bones about her thoughts on the dukes denial, and did not to Panorama.

Her legal team are at a loss as to why the interviews have not been broadcast.

All other broadcasters have aired their interviews almost immediately but not the BBC.

“Several people working on Virginias case question why it has been held back and wonder if it was not to jeopardise the interview with the duke.

During her interview, she was asked why she thought Andrew had remained silent. Of course that now is no longer the case.
