In fact, some men even assume she’s exactly like her character.

Speaking to HOAR Online, Kimberly explained: “I was playing a character that was a sex worker and then people will always comment on those kind of things.

“I haven’t experienced too many derogatory comments, it’s not been anything too intense, but there is definitely an element of if you speak to people, they’re like, ‘So what do you do?’

“And then they’ll be like, ‘Oh, I knew I knew you.’ We have to go through all that weird, ‘So what do you do?’ And then there’ll be like, ‘You look like that girl from Corrie’.”

She added: “People are always trying to see if you’re a real person or not as well, you know?”

And when it comes to chat-up lines, the star revealed they’re often soap related.

Kimberly went on: “Oh yeah, it’s always about the cardie, because in Corrie, I was dressing up as if I was Daniel Osbourne’s dead wife, so I was always in a cardigan.

“So people are like, ‘Oh, where’s your cardie? You can bring that cardie around my house any day.’ What can you do?!”

Corrie viewers will know Nicky left the cobbles last year after Daniel Osbourne helped her pay off her debts, so she could have a new life by the sea with her daughter.

He had stolen from evil Geoff Metcalfe to get the money together to help her, and it was only when she returned some of it that Geoff realised what had happened.

However, it wasn’t a final goodbye for Nicky.

A source told HOAR Online: “Nicky’s proved really popular with viewers and the bosses absolutely love Kimberly.

“The character has gone off for the storyline to develop but the door is very much open for her return.”

A Coronation Street spokeswoman also confirmed the door had been left open for Nicky to return.
