THERE’S a new man on the Corrie cobbles and he may look familiar.

Tony Roberts is set to join the cast as Scott, Johnny Connor’s new nemesis – but this is the actor’s FIFTH role on the show.

Actor Tony Roberts has joined Coronation Street as Scott

Tony’s character Scott will turn up in Weatherfield next week, and could cause trouble for Johnny (Richard Hawley).

New spoiler pictures now show Scott charming Liz McDonald (Beverley Callard) when he arrives at the pub.

Scott seems to be an instant hit with Liz, but not everybody is so keen.

But fans will not only be wondering what Scott is up to, but also when they have seen Tony before on The Street.

However he has had FOUR other roles on Corrie – seen here in 2003 as Dr. William Gerald

This is the fifth time he has been on the show – each time playing  different character.

The star, who was previously famed for starring on 90s sitcom 2Point4Children, has played a whole host of characters on the show.

He first time he appeared on the Cobbles was back in 2003 when he played Dr. William Gerald.

He next popped up as Adam Barlow’s solicitor in 2006.

You can catch Tony on Corrie on April 15

Next he was a health inspector in 2009 and finally a locum doctor in 2010.
Meanwhile when Tony’s character Scott’s introduction comes as he wants to rent the spare room at The Rovers on a long let.

Jenny Connor is excited over the news and looks forward to having some extra money coming in thanks to the new lodger.

When Johnny sees Scott, he’s secretly stunned to realise that he recognises him.

Johnny tries his best not to show Jenny that he’s worried, but quickly suggests that they should pay a visit to Eva Price in France.

Jenny fears that it’s too short notice to find cover for the pub and suggests that Johnny should go on his own.

When Johnny pushes the issue,  they get Peter Barlow and Carla Connor to run the pub.

We can’t wait to find out why Johnny is so worried about new man in town, Scott…
