Coronation Street fans think Nicky is in danger after Daniel hears about her past concerning evil Geoff

Nicky has helped Daniel cope with the loss of his wife, but not in the healthiest way however, as he’s asked her to dress up in Sinead’s clothes while the pair had several heart-to-heart chats, but never actually slept together.

However, that is about to change in upcoming scenes as the pair finally get intimate and sleep together, which worries Daniel’s nephew Adam Barlow.

But fans fear that Nicky will feel Daniel’s wrath when he discovers she is linked to the abusive Geoff Metcalfe.

Viewers will know Geoff has a history with sex workers and Daniel play with fire after he is caught stealing Geoff’s money to help Nicky pay off her debts and put her job as a sex worker behind her.

Daniel actor Rob Mallard commented on a change in direction concerning his character’s storyline.

He told Digital Spy’s Soap Scoop podcast.: “I would think though that it couldn’t go on much longer, they [the soap’s producers] would have to start doing other things with Daniel, because in the same way that the soaps move quite quickly in time.

“I think the audience is accustomed to that, and only so much of an extended storyline about something about grief for example.

“It might start to become a bit too much. So, I think soon enough we will see a shift in where Daniel is going.”

Daniel and Geoff will clash in upcoming episodes

It was reported last week that the ITV serial drama’s filming schedule was disrupted after one of its actors tested positive for the coronavirus.

As a result the show organised a deep clean of the building where the actor had been to ensure safety.

A spokeswoman for ITV soap told HOAR Online: “We can confirm a member of the Coronation Street team has tested positive for coronavirus.

“The protocols we have in place for such an eventuality have been implemented and the individual is now self isolating at home.”
