CORONATION Street fans are disgusted with Daniel Osbourne for telling Max Turner about his dad being raped.
The teacher – who is played by actor Rob Mallard in the ITV soap – put his foot in it during the consent workshops at school in tonight’s episode.
As Daniel said he was surprised Max stayed through the consent workshop, he put his foot in it.
“Well I guess I’ve got a personal stake in it, haven’t I?” replied Max.
“Because of David?” said Daniel before quickly realising what he’d done.
Max said: “Because of everyone accusing me of being a pervert the other week.
“Hold on, what do you mean because of David?”
Daniel tried to cover up what he meant and quickly left the room leaving Max confused – but determined to get the truth.
He went home and started to quiz David about what Daniel meant.
Max pressed his dad on what was going on.
“Why are you lying to me?” he demanded, and then he turned to Shona and asked her for the truth.
The teenager wasn’t going to let anything go and so it forced David to tell his son the truth.
“I was raped,” he told Max.
I thought he was a mate, we were in town having a few drinks and we went back to his flat for a few more drinks and he raped me.
“He tried to pass it off as being consensual but it wasn’t. It’s a lot to get your head around and it took me a long time before I told anyone, and the police.
“And if it wasn’t for Shona I don’t know where I’d be now or whether I’d be here alone.”
Max was visibly upset but David assured him he was OK – before storming around to Daniel’s to confront him.
The pair had a furious row before David left before he punched Daniel for suggesting it might be a good thing.
However when he got home, Max overheard David venting to Shona.
Fans are disgusted with Daniel for putting them in this position.
