CORONATION Street is lining up Sam Aston for a new deal in a desperate bid to keep hold of big-name stars.
The 26-year-old actor has played lovable Chesney Brown since 2003.
A number of big name stars left the soap last year, including Kym Marsh and Katie McGlynn, and bosses are keen to keep their top talent on the Cobbles going forward.
A source told HOAR Online bosses are in negotiations with Sam, saying: “Sam is still six months into his current contract but discussions are already being had about his future on the show.
“Chesney is one of the most loved characters on the street and bosses are keen to keep him in Weatherfield for the foreseeable future.
“Sam will be in a great position to negotiate a good deal for himself with his next contract.”
Sam has had some major storylines during his 17 years on the Cobbles, and most recently welcomed quadruplets with girlfriend Gemma Winter (Dolly Rose Campbell).
However the couple were left devastated recently when baby son Aled was diagnosed as being deaf.
A source exclusively told HOAR Online: “It’s going to be heartbreaking for Gemma and Chesney to realise baby Aled has hearing problems.
“The hope is that the storyline will raise awareness of how a family can cope with the diagnosis.
“It will show how the family and doctors can help ensure Aled will lead as normal life as possible as he grows up.”
Meanwhile, Sam tied the knot with wife Briony Gardner in May last year after proposing in 2017.
