CORONATION Street legend Sue Devaney is making another comeback to the cobbles.
The actress – who plays Kevin Webster’s sister Debbie – made a brief return last year after 35 years away but now she is set for a more permanent comeback.
Inside Soap revealed the news of Debbie’s return to the cobbles, and HOAR Online can confirm that she will be a permanent fixture until at least next year.
Debbie returned briefly last year after an aunt’s death and decided to give the £200,000 inheritance to her brother Kevin.
At the time she clashed with Kevin’s then love interest Abi Franklin – and now they’re together Debbie’s not going to hold back from causing trouble.
They first clashed last year when Abi mistook Debbie for a gold digger Kevin was going on a date with.
It was all smoothed out but Debbie was convinced, rightly, that Abi had feelings for him.
Now the couple have moved in together, Debbie will throw a spanner in the works – especially after giving Kevin the huge amount of money.
Abi actress Sally Carman teased that the relationship may not weather another storm.
She said: “I’m not sure they can have a happily ever after.
“Abi is chalk to his cheese. She’s younger, she’s unsettled – her motives for wanting to be with him are genuine and true but I don’t think they’re planted in true love.”
It is not yet known what will bring Debbie back to Weatherfield – or if she will be joined by her husband or children.
Sue will be seen on screen soon and all will be revealed.
