GAIL Platt is back in Weatherfield and next week will see her vow to fix her broken family in Coronation Street.

Since Gail disappeared to Thailand earlier this year, the Platt family has fallen apart. When she returns, shes horrified to find Bethany public enemy no.1 after a kiss with Daniel Osbourne.

Gail has returned all peace loving and hippyish

Her great-grandson Max is also at the centre of a custody battle as his paternal grandmother Marion has decided to apply for full time residence.

And her son David (Jack P Shepherd) will be looking at an attempted murder charge after vile rapist, Josh Tucker, frames him.

When Shona hears from Imran Habeeb that David is facing a murder charge, she reaches out to Nick Tilsley and pleads with him to bury the hatchet and help his brother.

Meanwhile, a worried Gail calls the family together at No.8, telling them shes sick of all the in-fighting and that they need to pull together.

But will her pleas fall on deaf ears?

Meanwhile it was recently revealed that Corrie bosses scrapped plans which would have seen Gail return from Thailand with another serial killer husband.

Gail won’t be having another serial killer husband

The Platt family matriarch – who is played by actress Helen Worth in the ITV soap – disappeared from the cobbles two months ago to fly to Thailand to find herself.

Now soap boss Iain MacLeod has revealed they had originally planned to bring Gail back with a dangerous new husband.

Her third husband Richard Hillman is one of the soap’s most dastardly ever villains, murdering his way through the cobbles in his time.

Gail will be seen making her comeback this week on Corrie as she arrives back on the street just in time to defend granddaughter Bethany as she is abused for kissing Daniel Osbourne.

Asked if Gails return heralded another husband for the serial bride, Iain told The Sun Online: There was originally a story on the table where she did.

“But we moved away from that in the end, just because we don’t want Gail to get together with another serial killer!

And if we were going to do it, we’d want to do it on screen rather than off screen!

“So no, she hasn’t. She’s just had a zen-like epiphany. But it won’t turn into a pastiche of a hippy lifestyle she’s still Gail.”
