With Daniel refusing to return to attend Sineads funeral, Ken Corrie legend Bill Roache and partner Claudia Colby will set off to track him down and bring him home.

But they return to the cobbles unable to find Daniel. His half-brother, Peter, eventually gets hold of him and he admits hes in Cheshire.

As he sits on a blustery hillside in contemplation he is surprised to find Peter alongside him. Peter implores Daniel to come home, pointing out the worry is taking its toll on Ken and with Sinead gone, Bertie needs his family more than ever. Has he done enough?

The Sun Online exclusively revealed last week that tormented Daniel would be hit by a car as he struggles to cope after Sineads tragic death.

he left the cobbles to grieve with his baby son Bertie after a clash with Beth Tinker over his cheating with Bethany Platt.

The pair had shared a kiss while Sinead lay dying and even though Beth had forgiven Daniel, Beth had no such compunctions.

Now The Sun Online can reveal how Daniel’s struggles to cope will only continue.

A source said: “Daniel’s not going to be able to catch a break over the next few months.

“He will increasingly struggle to cope with living without Sinead and raising his son Bertie.

“His stress levels will rocket and he won’t be paying attention and will end up being hit by a car.

“It really shakes him up realising how close to death he could have been with it potentially leaving Bertie as an orphan as a baby.”

Actor Rob recently spoke to The Sun Online about Daniel’s downward spiral following Sinead’s death.

He said: Theres been a foreshadowing of the self-destructive element, youll see that first.

“The snap of the elastic, cant expect him to keep it together straight away. Has Bertie to focus on, but thats the next stage of the story Sinead has told him all these things, forgive himself and all of that, but its all caught up in the death.

“He now has to unpick all of that, the meaning and the message of what she said and actually apply it. But with the trauma and shock, you get away from that as quickly as possible. There will be changes in Daniel, but may take a bit of time to implement it.”

A Coronation Street spokeswoman declined to comment.
