Leanne’s tragic situation has impacted all of her loved-ones, but Simon in particular was devastated when Leanne – who has raised him since he was a young child with her ex Peter – said she would be left with nothing when her youngest son Oliver dies.
Simon overheard Leanne say to Steve: “He was the son I wanted for ever, the son I never thought I’d have. When he’s gone you’ll have Amy and Emma. What will I have?”
Gutted by Leanne’s harsh words, Simon was so upset he later stormed out of an exam.
Next week’s episodes of Coronation Street will see Leanne begin making arrangements for Oliver’s funeral.
Later, Simon tells Shona he’s dreading his reading at Oliver’s funeral.
Shona promises him it’ll be fine and that all he has to do is read from the heart.
Enthused by Shona’s words, Simon prepares for Oliver’s memorial and laters offers to make Shona a playlist.

As the funeral kicks off later in the week, Leanne is shocked to see Nick’s son Sam outside the gates.
She’s even more irritated when she notices Nick fussing over Sam during the service.
