BLISSFULLY unaware of the full story behind her grandchildren’s actions, Yasmeen Nazir will finally get the truth.
For weeks, the co-owner of Speed Daal has been protected from her grandson’s money-laundering arrangement and the recent fire at the restaurant.
But Yasmeen – portrayed by Shelley King – is set for a dramatic start to 2022 as both of her grandchildren, Alya and Zeedan, will decide to come clean.
Back in September, 2021, Zeedan came back to Weatherfield after three years away, much to his family surprise.
His attempts to run away from his past were fruitless and even resulted in a violent street attack.
It is then revealed that he and his wife Marrium had separated.
The ordeal was far from over, however, as Zeedan’s father-in-law followed him to the cobbles.

Hashim forced Zeedan to agree to a money-laundering arrangement, while the latter endured constant threates from Marrium’s father.
Zeedan then had to watch as Speed Daal went up in flames so that Hashim could collect the insurance money.
The fire was a close call for homeless man Stu and led Zeedan to confess everything to a suspicious Ryan and Alya.
The Nazir family’s problems came to a halt following the fire.
During a visit to No.6, Hashim fell to his knees and clutching his chest as he tried to intimidate Alya and Zeedan even further.
While Zeedan went to call for an ambulance, he was held back by Alya who reminded him that if Hashim died, their problems could finally be over.
Zeedan had managed to keep his grandmother Yasmeen away from the turmoil, and protect her from the ugly truth about the Speed Daal fire.
But in an episode of Coronation Street set to air on Monday, January 10, 2022, Yasmeen comes to her own conclusions.
As Zeedan is relieved to have his hands on Hashim’s dirty money, a concerned Yasmeen offers Stu a full-time job at Speed Daal as well as a roof over his head.
When clearing out the room for her new guest, she makes a shocking discovery and all of Zeedan’s secrets will unravel before her eyes.
Awash with guilt, Alya could also be set to make her own confession to Yasmeen.
But how will the matriarch react?
