CORONATION Street viewers have been left horrified by bloodied scenes after Max was rushed to hospital when he sliced his leg open.

The troubled teen was facing a court appearance after accidentally spiking Amy Barlow’s drink instead of her uncle Daniel’s.

Max had smashed the window in at the barbers in a bid to get his mobile phone back

In tonight’s episode, Max’s dad David took him to the barbers so he could cancel his appointments to join him in court.

However, Max was adamant he wanted to tell people who he had really targeted and why, causing David to take his mobile phone away and lock it up.

Back at home, the pair argued before Max secretly made his way back to the barbers and smashed the front door’s window in, then climbing through.

But after looking for his phone and climbing back out, Max caught the top of his leg on a sharp piece of glass, causing blood to come pouring out.

The teen staggered along the street and ended up on the floor bleeding out, as Jacob and Simon found him.

While Simon wanted to leave him there after what he had done to his cousin Amy, Jacob rushed to help him and soon realised how serious his wound was.

Eventually, Simon clocked on too and called an ambulance, as Jacob removed his coat and wrapped it tightly around Max’s leg to try and stem the bleeding.

As the colour drained from Max’s face and he started to lose consciousness, David arrived at the same time as the ambulance.

Once at the hospital, David was told by a doctor that Max had lost so much blood his heart was struggling, and he would require immediate surgery to get the glass out of his body and to try and fix the wound.

Coronation Street viewers were quick to take to Twitter to discuss the bloodied scenes.

One wrote: “Meddling #Max has met his match, a razor-sharp piece of glass

Another added: “I wouldn’t wish death on anyone. Not including #Max Platt.”

A third tweeted: “Unbearable.”
