CORONATION Street’s Alan Halsall is ready to take the next step with girlfriend Tisha Merry and wants to start a family with her.
The former Corrie co-stars moved into a stunning Manchester home last year and are getting very serious.
Tisha, 27, played Steph Britton on the Cobbles until late last year, while Alan, 37, still stars on the ITV soap as Tyrone Dobbs.
The couple are co-parenting Alan’s six-year-old daughter Sienna whom he shares with ex Lucy-Jo Hudson but are thinking about adding to their brood.
They revealed in an interview with OK! that Tisha is keen to start a family.
Alan said to Tisha in the interview: “You always talk to each other about your aspirations, don’t you?
“What you’d like in terms of family, etc. We’ve never had a proper serious sit down but we’ve discussed the future together.”
Tisha realised she wanted kids with Alan after showering her boyfriend with praise for his parenting skills.
She said: “He’ll be so amazing. When we were still friends, I got asked to babysit and asked Alan to come along.
“We got there and it was just Alan babysitting. He’s such a good dad; he’s so caring and loving.
“He notices everything and his communication with Sienna is so strong. I would love that for our child if we have one.”
Many of their fans recently thought the couple had an exciting announcement after Alan pranked them on Instagram.
He shared a picture of a sonogram, leading many to think it was a baby announcement, without actually reading his caption.
Alan wrote: “Totally unexpected and we’ve not told anyone, didn’t want to shout it to the world at first until it was confirmed.
“We can now share this wonderful news with you all and we’re very proud to announce … this is a scan of my liver in perfect condition, ready for when the pubs re-open…….”
The actor could not believe how many people fell for his prank.
He said: “It had like 20,000 likes in a day. So many people wrote back congratulating us. I was like: ‘Read the caption! It’s a joke about my liver!’”
Tisha added: “I howled at that. It really tickled me.”
The couple admitted it was hard co-parenting alongside ex wife Lucy-Jo who has since had another child with boyfriend Lewis Devine.
Lucy and Alan split in May 2018 after nine years of marriage together – but now successfully have a ‘blended’ family.
The Tyrone actor said: “There’s always going to be ups and downs with a blended family.
“So long as Sienna comes first in all of it, that’s all that matters. Sienna’s got her mum and dad, and she’s also got Lewis and Tisha. It’s just a case that everybody loves her.”
