CORONATION Street’s Andy Whyment beamed as he drunk his first pint in six months.

The actor headed out to his local boozer with his wife Nichola Willis as the pubs reopened.

He shared a picture of the pair holding up their pints of beer on Instagram.

Andy wrote: “Shops have reopened and our 1st draught pint in 5 and a half months down at our local club the Botanical Gardens feels like a bit of normality has resumed have a great day everyone.”

The 40-year-old star plays the hilarious Kirk Sutherland on the Cobbles.

In July he signed a new deal to continue featuring on the serial drama for another twelve months.

Posing in his hot tub with a glass of Bacardi and Coke, he told fans at the time: “Good evening guys, in the lazy spa, 40 degrees, Bacardi diet coke, celebrating that I’ve been offered a new contract at Coronation Street.”

And just a few weeks ago he reached a new milestone when he turned 40.

He celebrated in lockdown with a Caribbean themed party after his luxury cruise was cancelled amid the coronavirus.

He was thrilled when his wife and their 11-year-old daughter Hollie pulled out all the stops to bring the charm of the Caribbean to the Whyment household.

He partied with a tropical party decorations in the background, including a flamingo and pineapple banner and a blow up palm tree.

The star looked chuffed as he posed next to his stunning cruise birthday ship cake, beautifully decorated with layers of frosting.
